America Divided

I am confused. I hear that my country is more divided than ever before. That’s not good. I am a black native born septengarin, what does this mean. I heard about slavery, I lived Jim Crow. More divided what does this mean? I no longer live in a segregated community. I am no longer to get of the side walk when certain people pass,I look all people in the eye with out fear. More divided . What does this mean?. Has my existence been an illusion. Am I really real. I ponder. What do they mean? I am bewildered. What ?. Help me to understand.
